1. Now that you have a profile on Facebook or MySpace, how will you share information about yourself to meet other students at Ai and start to build your network?

I often post Ideas for new and upcoming projects as well as pictures of some of these projects finished. I value the input of my Friends, Colleagues and Fellow Students. These social networking utilities aid me greatly with my creativity and motivation in life.

2. Keeping in mind that employers use social networks as a recruiting tool, how will you use Facebook or MySpace to promote yourself to potential employers?

I believe that posting my work as well as asking for constructive criticism is key for gaining valuable feedback. I believe most employers would agree.

3. How will you use Facebook or MySpace to build your professional network?

By showing my work, I believe my professional network will grow all on it's own. This has already proven advantageous for myself. Also, Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with past/present coworkers, fellow students and distant friends.

4. What interests and personal details will you share with your circle?

Positive thoughts and ideas on possible projects.

5. How is professional networking different from social networking?

I believe that they are both becoming quite similar in many ways. However, I have found that the main difference is Professional Networking is more "Black and White" and that Social Networking is more for fun. I base these thoughts on Linkedin being a Professional Networking Tool and Facebook being a Social Networking Tool.

1. What about My Ai Campus.com seems interesting or useful to you?

What is NOT useful on this page should be the question...... My answer to that would be nothing. I find everything on "My Ai Campus.com" to be useful multiple times a day. I find it to be so useful that it has the privilege of being 1/3 of my Firefox Homepages. The other 2 being "http://aim.aiiresources.com/ and my very own Web Page, http://jtw363.aisites.com/


2. Why is this such a great resource for students here at Ai?

It keeps them "In the know".

3. What specific resources do you find useful or helpful?

I find the "My Self Service" tool to be used most often by myself. I often check my GPA and use the "GPA Calculator".

4. Did you have any problems accessing your student portal account or other services in this Thing? If you say "no" you're either a liar or you did something wrong. Do it again!

If I remember correctly, the first time I attempted to access my Student email for the first time after Ai decided to switch to gmail, which I am not particularly pleased with, the link provided was broken. I find the school email to often be much more of a burden than a help. I went to ITT Technical Institute for just over a year. ITT Tech provides all of their students with a LIFETIME Premium Microsoft Hotmail Account. This is something I believe Ai should also do for their students. Student email is the #1 complaint I hear from fellow students. Did I mention that Tuition at ITT Tech is far less than Ai????? Or how about the fact that ITT Tech provides EVERYTHING needed for their programs at no additional charge aside from the Tuition????
